Interview: 65daysofstatic
Arguably the greatest thing to happen to Sheffield since The Full Monty, 65daysofstatic has been firmly established as one of the leading lights of the British instrumental scene. Intrepid The Silent Ballet reporter James Ould catches up with the band to discuss recent releases, touring with The Cure and plans for the future.
So, you’re back in the UK now, is it good to be home and playing your own headline shows?
Rob – Yeah, we’ve been looking forward to it for about…how long was The Cure tour?
Paul – About 6 weeks?
R – Yeah, about 6 weeks now.
Straight in with that, straight in…
P – haha, yeah, well we were only playing for half an hour every other day, so as incredible as the whole thing was on so many levels, in terms of playing shows, we don’t have days off.
R – Its not how we do things, we try and play as much as possible, days off are just a bit expensive.
P – That’s a good thing with having no singer, no one has to rest their voice.
